POSITION SUMMARY:
The Teen Coordinator will assist in implementing all teen programs and initiatives. Specific responsibilities include building relationships with youth and teens; collaborating with community partners, such as local schools and area organizations that share a similar interest in helping teens reach their full potential, to promote teen development initiatives.
SALARY/PAY: $25.00 - $27.00/hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- With the assistance of the Director, this position will direct and oversee, Model United Nations, Model Legislature and Court, and other teen leadership cohorts
- Develop and implement innovative approaches to promote and increase teen program participation and retention.
- Lead and administer teen programs.
- Attend all conferences and meetings
- Create positive, lasting memories for all teen program participants, staff and volunteers.
- Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
- Attend meetings, online webinars, and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation; Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills; Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull; Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with teens
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all employee levels is required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills will be required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task is required.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule, with frequent evening and weekend work
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
