Dragonfli Group is a cybersecurity and IT consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC. We specialize in providing high-impact solutions to government agencies and commercial enterprises across domains including boundary protection, cloud security, analytics, and enterprise IT modernization.

We are seeking a DOTCOM Security SME to support a federal agency focused on national boundary protection services. This is a remote, contract-based opportunity requiring Public Trust clearance eligibility.

The selected candidate will work closely with stakeholders to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot F5 and Akamai WAF/CDN appliances, deliver statistical insight from raw data, and support enterprise-grade cybersecurity systems in compliance with PCI DSS 4.1.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to implement, maintain, and troubleshooting F5, Akamai WAF/CDN appliances across select customer applications and ensure their peak performance.
  • Experience with applications regarding PCI DSS 4.1, and malvertising protections for advertisement campaigns.
  • Work closely with other cybersecurity groups to coordinate and de-conflict protective measures.
  • Provide guidance and information to key stakeholders on the protection(s) that can be provided. This individual also provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, for the cybersecurity posture for client-stakeholders while also mitigating challenges/issues
  • Monitor and interpret traffic analytics to help identify malicious traffic.
  • Analyze and interpret raw data using Splunk and other analytic tools to and statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns and provide ongoing insight and visibility to management.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Provide ongoing support to existing monitoring capabilities and data collection systems. Provide development support for the expansion and implementation of new systems.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities across a broad customer.
  • Help develop and document procedural guides, SOPs, process flows for the functions performed, and working towards implementing more AI responses for blocking malicious traffic/actors.
  • Contributing to the development and re-engineering methods to improve processes, reducing risks, increasing controls and/or increase customer satisfaction. Re-engineering processes with the application owners to incorporate machine learning which will facilitate increased securities and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment: Remote (U.S. only); Preference given to candidates located in Morrisville, NC; Falls Church, VA; Eagan, MN;

Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for Public Trust

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, or related field – or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years in IT, data, security, or operational analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data from Splunk and similar tools
  • Experience with secure enterprise environments
  • Able to produce SOPs, process flows, and guide documents

Strong experience with:

  • F5, Akamai WAF/CDN
  • PCI DSS 4.1-compliant applications
  • AI, BI tools, and SQL-based databases
  • Statistical analysis on large datasets using advanced packages
