Senior Back End Engineer (AI / Computer Vision)

Description

A defense-tech startup, building an AI-powered autonomous systems that connect cameras, sensors, and natural-language interfaces, is looking for a Senior Back End Engineer, with AI \ Computer Vision expertise. In this role, you’ll be one of our first engineers. You’ll shape architecture, set engineering standards, and lead the development of real-time, AI-first features for high-stakes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend/systems engineering in production
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and databases
• Proficient in Python and containerized environments (Docker, K8s, CI/CD)
• Experience with pub/sub architectures (Kafka, MQTT)

Bonus Points

• AI inference services at scale (Triton, ONNX, TensorRT)
• Stream processing for high-volume video
• LLM integration (RAG, agents)
• Computer vision, edge deployments, or gov/security projects
• Go, Rust, or C++ experience
• Computer Science degree
