JFK Memorial Hospital has provided medical care to residents in the Coachella Valley since 1966. A group of physicians, including Dr. Reynaldo Carreon, founded the hospital and today one of JFK’s cross streets is named in his honor.
Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. It offers a variety of services, including:
- Emergency care 24/7
- Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology

- Outpatient Rehabilitation Center
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Director, prepares information reports that detail activities. Accurately inputs data to develop reports. Coordinates office activities and dispatches engineers for service. Attends Environment of Care and prepares all reports needed as necessary.
Shift: Days
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Schedule: Monday thru Friday
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dispatches all calls to engineers by radio or phone and also logs all calls in log. Keeps track of calls and makes sure that the engineers are not backed up and reassigns the calls as necessary, adjusts patient temperature in the EMS computer.
- Inputs all departmental employee daily assignments, preventative maintenance to departmental computer and issues work order number and assigns PM's.
- Orders and issues PO's for materials, codes invoices and sends invoices for payment. Checks on status of payment on invoices with accounting and calls vendors on open PO's.
- Attends Environment of Care Meeting and takes minutes, keeps track of all safety inspections and deficiencies, creates tables, graphs and keeps up with the EOC calendar.
- Responsible for providing administrative support to director and maintains director's calendar. Screens phone calls, schedules appointments and responds to emails.
- Take dictation, type memos, reports, letter and minutes of meeting which could include confidential and/or highly sensitive issues.
- Maintains department personnel and education files.
- Maintains records and monitors attendance of in-service education classes for all employees within the department.
- Schedule meetings and seminars for appropriate individuals within the department
- May help select, train, evaluate and supervise other clerical support personnel.
- Establishes effective office procedure.
- Reports overtime for the employees each pay period.
- Inputs all employee daily hours on Kronos.
- Works on special projects as assigned
- Sets up and maintains all records, files and logs within the department
- Attends meeting as required by the director
- Assures that outgoing mail is properly forwarded and incoming is distributed to the proper person(s).
- Responsible for ordering office supplies for the department
- Responsible for all other task and assignments as may be required in the efficient operations of the department.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Five (5) years previous office experience preferred
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience a must
- Minimum typing speed 50 WPM
- Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner
