Cummins Singapore is seeking a technically proficient Aftermarket Sales Engineer (Power Generation segment) to join our Aftermarket team. This is a critical, customer-facing position, focused on driving aftermarket growth through parts and service solutions for Cummins engines/generators within Singapore. 

You will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, identifying parts and service opportunities, and developing tailored solutions that enhance equipment reliability and performance. This field-based role involves conducting site surveys, equipment inspections, and engaging in in-depth technical discussions with customers and vendors. By providing exceptional product and system sales support, you will influence demand and preference for Cummins solutions among technical and commercial stakeholders.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Develop and manage relationships with key customers including facility managers, M&E contractors, OEMs, system integrators and other related vendors.
  • Develop strategies and account plans for key customers.
  • Identify and pursue aftermarket sales opportunities such as: 

a. Long-term service contracts 

b. Major repair/overhauls 

c. Health checks and diagnostics 

d. ECU/control system upgrades 

e. Parts and consumables supply 

  • Conduct site visits and technical assessments to evaluate customer needs. 
  • Provide timely and accurate technical support, inspection reports, and recommendations. 
  • Prepare and present quotations, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and commercial expectations. 
  • Reports potential sales opportunities in the CRM system 
  • Coordinate with parts/service operations, engineering to ensure timely delivery of customer deliverables. 
  • Drive customer satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and professionally. 
  • Keep current on competition, industry, regulations, technologies. Study impact and develop actions to address these trends/challenges. 
  • May mentor newer sales function personnel. .

  • Pricing Strategy - Develops prices by aligning and building consensus with key stakeholders across functions to achieve business targets.  
  • Account Planning - Identifies objectives to drive execution of business and/or account strategy by reviewing the status relative to where it needs to be and enabling tracking of progress against targets. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical sales or aftermarket support, preferably in power generation/diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with Cummins engines/generators is preferred.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to conduct hands-on inspections and diagnose equipment performance.
  • Prior experience in aftermarket business development/sales.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, field-oriented, and customer-driven.
  • No cross-border relocation provided.
