Software Engineer III - Java - QE - BLR

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Applies test engineering methodologies, behavioral-driven development, Agile software delivery, and operate in product-based delivery squads.
• Operates with an automation-first mindset to enable and enhance Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery capabilities.
• Operates as an SDET and enhance the level of automation to ensure faster turn-around of testing initiatives.
• Participates in various POCs (Proof of Concept) to keep the automation framework and technology relevant and current to product offerings.
• Collaborates effectively with software engineers, product owners, test engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality of product delivery.
• Defines, automates, and validates test cases to ensure requirements are met across all layers of the technology stack – API / Services / UI.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.

• Experience in software engineering or Quality Engineering roles in enterprise system having high volume, highly available and scalable systems.
• Experience in Test Engineering role for middleware applications with focus on API automation. 
• Experience with WebService automation using Java17 & Springboot.
• Experience with Oracle SQL Database. 
• Experience with Test Framework using BDD, Cucumber, JUnit.
• Experience with build tools : Maven & Gradle.
• Experience in WebService based systems & automated validation along with good analytical skills and strong hands on programming experience.
• Experience with Performance testing tools like JMeter, Blazemeter.
• Experience with front end automation using Selenium.
• Experience with Database : Mongo, Cockroach.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Ability to work in close interaction with developers in verification and validation of features in new and existing applications.
• Ability to communicate with product squad & partner teams, business users, product owners and other stakeholders.
• Experience research testing trends and self-motivated to stay current with industry best practices.
• Experience with the following tools & frameworks: Javascript, understanding of design patterns,  Rest API, Gen AI tools, ELK stack, and React.
