Vice President of Development – Insurance Technology
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically sophisticated Vice President of Development to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of our insurance platforms. This senior leadership role requires deep insurance domain expertise, particularly in rating and forms, as well as mastery of IMS development and web services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across Microsoft technologies and a proven track record of leading development teams in the insurance industry.


Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership
◦ Define and drive the architectural vision for modern insurance systems, including rating, quoting, and policy binding platforms.
◦ Lead a high-performing team of developers and technical architects to deliver scalable and robust insurance solutions.
◦ Set technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Technical Oversight
◦ Provide hands-on leadership for system architecture using the Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET, SQL Server, Angular).
◦ Ensure scalable and efficient integration of third-party platforms, APIs, and services into core insurance applications.
◦ Guide the design and implementation of IMS web services with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
• Platform Development and Optimization
◦ Oversee IMS configuration and custom development efforts, ensuring systems meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
◦ Drive enhancements and modernization initiatives related to rating engines and form management.
◦ Contribute to data strategy and analytics, including Power BI implementations and dashboarding (preferred).


Required Qualifications
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in the Insurance industry, with deep expertise in insurance rating systems and forms.
• At least 7 years of hands-on IMS development and configuration experience, with intimate knowledge of IMS web services.
• Strong architectural understanding of insurance lifecycle systems for rating, quoting, and policy binding.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams, setting vision, and overseeing enterprise-grade platform development.
• Expertise in the Microsoft technology stack, including:
◦ C# / .NET Framework / .NET Core
◦ SQL Server
◦ Angular (front-end frameworks)
◦ Power BI (preferred, not required)
• Experience integrating with third-party insurance services and platforms in the digital/online ecosystem.

• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a leadership role while maintaining strong technical depth.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including underwriting, product, and IT teams.
• Ability to manage concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment with shifting business needs.
• Passion for innovation in insurtech and building customer-centric digital solutions.


Location & Travel
• This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite, depending on candidate preference and organizational needs.
• Occasional travel for strategic meetings or technical workshops may be required.
