Job Summary:

This position provides direct facilities support to 50% of our retail stores (100+) and a large geography of warehouse properties (15+). This role will proactively manage individual tasks within Retail Operations & Facilities teams and act as the liaison between the Retail store teams, Operations and Third-Party vendors. This role is responsible for vendor management, procurement of services, materials and supplies from vendors, safety and security testing, back flow inspections, pest control, waste management accounts, and management of handyman services.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the coordination of new store openings and major remodel projects with a focus on facilities alarm systems, fire suppression, and other permits and approvals necessary to open new stores and reopen remodeled stores.
  • Act as the primary contact for vendors to schedule deliveries, to discuss shortages or missed deliveries and to resolve issues related to under/over orders and damaged goods.
  • Responds to inquiries and questions from management and the field team on a variety of purchasing related topics.
  • Assembles background information on potential suppliers and various projects to allow Facilities/Operations to make informed decisions and maintains files for all existing contracts.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for specific facilities management items for different individual property types.
  • Responsible for quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventative maintenance as required by different landlords and municipalities.
  • Responsible for identifying reoccurring issues and recommends solutions.
  • Provides administrative support for operations team and assists in creating process documentation.
  • Develops and updates reports for purchasing such as budgets, cost analysis, benefits, agreements/contracts, and project progress/status.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations for substitute items; obtaining approval from management on changes.
  • Work directly with Accounts Payable department in establishing vendors and getting them paid in a timely manner.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

This role leads, supports and coordinates facility management work and safety initiatives for the 100+ retail La-Z-Boy and 10+ retail Joybird stores and assists with the Store Closing process. This role also coordinates the annual life safety inspections scheduling with various vendors around the country for Fire & Security Alarm Testing, Sprinkler Systems, Back flow, and Emergency Lighting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Facilities Management with 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Strog written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Travel Required: 20% to retails store and warehouse locations as necessary

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • PMP Certificate

Office environment / no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. Nearly continuously sitting. Often required repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, and talk. Seldom required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, kneel, squat, crouch, reach overhead, pull, push or lift – up to 20 pounds. Not required to climb ladders, crawl, balance, and shovel or lift over 50 pounds.
