$17.50 - $22.50 Hourly

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION 

The Plan Development and Implementation (PDI) Division is an energetic and collaborative section of the Planning Department with highly interactive teams for Transportation, Comprehensive Planning, Beautification, and Commercial District Revitalization. This position provides support for various comprehensive planning, urban design, and transportation planning functions by providing technical and research assistance; GIS mapping and analyses; data collection, entry, and manipulation; utilization of the Tax Assessor’s site to collect and verify data; use of a model to show impact on tax base and investment growth; data analysis and visualization; graphic skills with renderings; assistance with project management and meeting logistics; assistance with grant application preparation; facilitation of answers to data requests from external agencies; and preparation of presentation and meeting materials, among other functions. Some of the PDI Division's current projects include the Development Codes Update (revisions to Zoning Code and Subdivision Regulations), update of planokc (the City’s comprehensive plan), and implementation of bikewalkokc (the City's pedestrian and bicycle master plan) and the Vision Zero Action Plan (the City’s first traffic safety master plan). The Downtown Strategic Plan will kick off this summer and will be a great learning experience with national top-notch consultants and prominent downtown stakeholders. The City of Oklahoma City is hosting the OKAPA fall conference in November, and this position will assist with facilitation. 

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the Plan Development and Implementation (PDI) Division of the Planning Department within the City of Oklahoma City. This part-time position is used for training purposes in the field of public administration and in the specific operation of City departments. The position is responsible for providing standard research and administrative and/or technical support to an assigned City department. Typical duties include: performing a wide variety of administrative, project-related, department-specific, and/or financial assignments to assist a City department or division. This position may also be utilized for students and interns working part-time on special projects while completing advanced degree programs.

Pay Method:  City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.
