ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform radiographic inspection of welds under the guidelines of ASNT-TC-1A and Section V of the ASME Code.
· Meet all necessary requirements to hold Level 2 Certification for Radiographic Testing in accordance with Samuel’s Written Practice SPVG-WP-1 and Radiographic Testing Procedure SPVG-RT-01.
· Accumulate and Record Radiographic Inspection hours.
· Inspect and record radiographic results in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A, Section V of the ASME code, Radiographic Testing Procedure SPVG-RT-01and Silvan Written Practice SPVG-WP-1.
· Perform ultrasonic inspection of material and welds under the guidelines of ASNT-TC-1A and Section V of ASME Code.
· Meet all necessary requirements to hold Level 2 Certification for Ultrasonic Testing in accordance with Samuel’s Written Practice SPVG-WP-1 and Ultrasonic Testing Procedure SI-UT-1.
· Accumulate and Record Ultrasonic Inspection Hours.
· Inspect and record ultrasonic results in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A, Section V of the ASME code, Ultrasonic Testing Procedure SI-UT-1 and Silvan Written Practice SPVG-WP-1.
· Perform and record in process inspections throughout Samuel.
· Interface effectively with the Operations (floor and office) Department, as well as other Quality Assurance Personnel, and Purchasing to clearly communicate the quality status of particular jobs.
· Operate proper measuring and test equipment in accordance with departmental procedures.
· Perform and record necessary non-destructive tests throughout Samuel, including visual, magnetic particle, visible dye penetrant, ultrasonic inspection and radiography inspection.
· Properly utilize the non-conforming product systems.
· Initiate, or help floor personnel initiate, corrective measures through established systems.
· Assist Quality Assurance Manager and in special projects or systems development.
· Monitoring and enforcement of the Quality Control Manual, sessions, and other relevant procedures.
· Maintain NDE equipment and reorder or report shortages or issues to management timely.
· Assist in the maintenance of the calibration process, and assist in performing calibration activities on measuring and test equipment.
· Perform random inspection activities at a frequency determined by the Quality Assurance Manager.
· Investigate and Document possible root causes of in process deficiencies and propose preventative measures to eliminate the deficiencies.
· Perform scheduling, execution, developing, and interpretation of required radiographic
non-destructive examinations. Preserve and maintain radiographic testing results, and report the results to the appropriate management representatives.
· EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
· Tape measure, levels, calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, pressure gauges, ultrasonic thickness gauge, mill thickness gauge, pyrometer, and other measure & test equipment.
· Forklifts, hoists, handcarts, and other material handling equipment.
· Basic hand tools (both manual and power).
· Basic Welding Techniques.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
· Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
· Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
· Must have a basic understanding of computers.
· Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
· Must be able to read blue prints.
· Good communication skills.
· Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
· Professionalism and respect at all times with internal and external customers.
· Uphold all components of the ISO, ASME and other applicable codes to assure compliance of product manufactured at this location.
· Shall be capable of distinguishing color, differentiating contrast between colors and shades of grey as required for the specific NDE method
· Shall be able to pass reading a minimum of Jaeger Number 1 letters in at test administered at the distance indicated on the chart
