Position Overview: Responsible for working with the shipping team leader to organize and forecast long-terms contract specific packaging material needs. Pack and ship end products using proper packaging procedures and sound judgement. 

Responsibilities:         

• Organize and execute packaging based on contract specific and carrier requirements
• Read packaging schematic or drawing, gather materials, and build packaging assemblies
• Estimate package weight for bulk packaging assignments 
• Follow proper packaging and safety procedures 
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklift 
• Deliver material from warehouse to production
• Make customer deliveries and local pick-ups with the Company box truck 
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area 
• And other requested duties as needed     

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 years of previous employment 
• 1-2 years of experience with shipping and packaging
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Driver’s License required
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
• Basic use of office technology including but not limited to computers, email, calculators, label makers, etc. 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for the majority of the workday.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
