Description
Summary: This position works on products such as motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies. The assembler II is proficient with all tools and equipment required and can perform in-process inspections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned:
· Perform work on motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies.
· Ensures correct work order and clocked time is properly tracked.
· Verify the warehouse pull contains the right parts at the right quantity and raise the flag to cell lead or management if there are issues.
· Check the revision of the drawings per the Bill of Material (BOM) to ensure the part is produced to the right revision.
· Read and interpret all engineering drawings and EPS/PPP documents.
· Gather tools and verify that they are calibrated and in good condition prior to starting the work, replace tools that are not compliant.
· Assemble the product per the print and released procedures to ensure a quality product.
· Safely operate all equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, etc.
· Route to Quality or perform in-process inspection per the procedure.
· Troubleshoot quality issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, escalate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
· Perform tests per the test procedure and record results.
· If the test fails, troubleshoot the issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, escalate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
· Sign all assembly & test operations and clock out of the job to ensure proper tracking of production.
· Perform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks.
· Comply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage.
· Work with manager to set and maintain a personal development plan to grow skills and abilities.
· Identify process improvements with the goal of increasing efficiency and elevate to leadership.
· Clean, sweep, remove trash and set workstation to ensure tools are in their proper location and the area is clean for the next job.
· Identify safety, quality, delivery cost issues and report to management.
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum 3 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing/production environment building or repairing parts. Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc. for part assembly. A&P Certification preferred; experience with ISO or AS9100 procedures preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ability to read, and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and reports, drawings and schematics. The ability to write and/or type routine correspondence or reports. The ability to perform simple shop math including use of decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and see. Repetitive movement is also required.
The employee is required to sit, walk, stoop, bend and move about in an office area/shop area. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 25lbs occasionally lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 50lbs, and rarely lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus.
