Role Summary
The Safety Performance Coach (SPC), working under the direction of the Regional QHSE Manager, is responsible for supporting rig management in promoting Borr Drilling’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures, including supporting key processes; with awareness of how to obtain best industry practices. Advise the OIM regarding conformance to Borr Drilling Management System (BMS), has a proactive role in identifying and rectifying gaps within the management system and act as a visible QHSE representative being present during operations on-board the installation and supporting the execution of operations. Take an active role in supporting the implementation of training and competency processes for rig personnel.Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the QHSE Manager and OIM
- Actively monitor rig operations and ensure compliance with Borr Drilling QHSE policies and procedures; responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist
- Act as QHSE advisor and coach for all personnel onboard including the Safety Committee
- Plan and conduct weekly and daily operations safety meetings with the OIM, and assist crew supervisors in preparing, conducting any follow up safety meetings
- Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings, MBWA, Check, BBS program, Risk Assessments
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Borr Drilling Management System (BMS). Provide onboard training in safety management systems and ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), i.e. SWA, PTW, LOTO, Risk Assessments, Work Instructions etc., to crew and third-party contractors
- Conduct offshore induction and orientation for all personnel boarding the rig together with Medic and OIM. Ensure all personnel understand emergency alarm signals and their appropriate muster station designated lifeboat embarkation station and alternative life raft embarkation station and house rules.
- Act as liaison with Client representatives and their sub-contracted personnel regarding QHSE topics, training on rig and regulatory compliance
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and training in its usage, is provided to personnel onboard.
- Ensure that all PPE, firefighting equipment, first aid kits, spill kits, eyewash stations, EEBD’s, rescue sets (confined space, on height) etc. are maintained in a clean and reliable condition
- Monitor any pollution hazards and ensure any spill is cleaned and disposed of in line with Company policies and procedures
- Ensure all daily, weekly and other ad-hoc QHSE reports and registers are completed correctly and in a timely manner and distributed as required
- Report on QHSE statistics, incidents, accidents, property damage and near misses
- Participate and ensure incident investigations are commenced in a timely manner and conducted as per Borr required methodology and procedure guidance. Take the role as Lead Investigator as required by OIM or QHSE Reginal Manager
- Monitor, conduct and participate in regular inspections and (internal) audits and follow up on action points as required
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and make recommendations to QHSE Regional Manager and rig management where appropriate
- Liaise with shore-based personnel to support with the implementation of training and competency processes for all rig personnel
- Ensure clear and comprehensive handover to back to back
- Support on an ad hoc basis as required and directed by OIM.
- Perform duties as per the unit Station Bill, and assist during Emergency situations as directed by the OIM
- Work with assigned assessor to complete Borr Competence Management System “BCAMS” and where necessary, identify any areas for development
- Good communication is adhered to with all rig personnel
- Represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job to include confidentiality of Company and Client business

Qualifications and Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3, OSHA or similar HSE qualification.
- OPITO MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training) (North Sea Region)
- OPITO BOSIET or FOET to include HUET with CA-EBS
- Offshore Medical Certificate
- Confined Space Vessel Entry
- Confined Space Rescue
- Rescue at Heights
- Gas Tester
- Be familiar with Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis. Be prepared to be trained in and utilise the COMET Investigation Toolset
- First Aid to include AED. (North Sea Region)
- Meet any regulatory qualifications required for the working area
Experience
- Previous experience working in the capacity as a Safety Performance Coach
- Previous experience working on similar MODUs
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.
- Willing to work worldwide
- Solid knowledge of QHSE practices and local State Regulations
- Computer literate proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
- Good presentation and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to follow directions
- Ability to interact with diverse groups and know how to recognize and resolve conflict
