JOB SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide front desk support and assist the Homeowner Service and the Home Preservation departments to better serve clients through the process of homeownership.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- As the first point of contact for Habitat KC, this role serves as the face of the organization providing warm, professional and helpful experience for all callers and in-person visitors.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for general inquiries about Habitat KC.
- Work with families to ensure all documentation is provided for Habitat KC program applications.
- Provide input into processes for intake that create efficiency for the families applying.
- Create digital client records and upload supporting Homeownership Program and Home Preservation service intake documents into the correct shared drive.
- Guide applicants through the intake process with clarity, empathy and efficiency.
- The Intake Specialist needs to be compassionate, detail-orientated and capable of managing high volumes of data and communication, all while maintaining a human centered approach.
- Process Homeownership Program credit report payments and submit to Finance department.
- Monitor Homeowner Services, Home Preservation Services and Habitat general email and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Enter interested applicant data into Giveffect database and ensure all information is accurate and available for cross-departmental reporting.
- Oversee Partnership Hour requirements of the Homeownership Program.
- Aid individuals and families by connecting them to community resources.
- Assist in gathering program feedback and implementing recommended changes towards best practices in the industry.
- Assist in the preparation of education workshops and provide support as needed.
- Maintain certifications and industry knowledge through research, workshops, training and required compliance.

The salary range for this position $58,000 - $61,000 a year.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Experience
- Minimum of one-year relevant work experience including but not limited to: data entry/administrative assistance/case management.
- Experience in working with low-to-moderate families preferred.
Competencies
- Organization & Prioritization: Ability to meet deadlines, use time efficiently, and prioritize. Able to juggle multiple tasks and deal with interruptions gracefully.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and work as an effective team member.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write professional documents. Bi/multi-lingual is a plus.
- Flexibility/Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure to handle frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected events.
- Interpersonal: Outstanding customer service skills with an ability to work with diverse, multi-lingual populations and occasionally handle difficult situations and conflicts with finesse. Represent Habitat KC with poise, courtesy, and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere at all times.
- Technical: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom and/or Teams required.
Job Requirements
- Complete Neighborworks Trainings as assigned.
- Complete yearly Qualified Loan Originator training.
- Maintain required certifications and industry knowledge through research, workshops, training, and required compliance.
- Willingness to maintain the flexible work schedule necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Integrity, organization, attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements
- Speak and hear in order to communicate with others.
- Work at a desk or computer for extended periods of time.
- Move around the office, event, or construction sites.
- Apply physical dexterity, able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to independently operate a motor vehicle.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Individual may need to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. The individual may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Individual may be subject to intermittent moderate noise levels. Individual needs to be able to use their fingers to type.
