Summary of Job (brief description)
The role of the National Director, Field Access is to lead and mentor a team of Regional Access Directors (RADs) who work to minimize access and reimbursement barriers for patients and providers related to VYKAT XR.
The National Director, Field Access is expected to have a deep working knowledge of both public and private payer policies as it relates to VYKAT XR coverage and access. This position will serve as subject matter expert on payer/reimbursement matters, patient services and pharmacy processes and requirements. The Director is focused on ensuring healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers are enabled with the information, tools and resources needed to ensure patient ability to start and stay on therapy. They will work closely with Market Access, Sales and SP/Hub leadership, supporting the team in resolving overarching and complex access-related issues and concerns.
Responsibilities
- Develop a highly functioning, cohesive team of RADs, contributing to the development and shaping of the field access strategy, defining team success metrics, and inspiring innovative solutions.
- Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and retain a diverse and hardworking team who are competent and skilled in the healthcare marketplace, and in access & fulfillment.
- Work collaboratively with internal leaders on identified opportunities to further support the PWS rare disease community and establish and put forth best in class access practices.
- Aid the team in securing and applying appropriate resources to optimize and support the patient journey to deliver excellent patient and provider experience.
- Champion and manage the appropriate utilization of patient support services and reimbursement programs to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in reimbursement and access across VYKAT XR patient support offerings and be the subject matter expert.
- Work closely with the external and internal customers to troubleshoot any Hub/SP-related trends. Closely collaborate with Hub/SP team to directly solve any customer-related issues.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key opinion leaders/provider advocates to drive payer and reimbursement strategies when necessary.
- Stay current on industry patient support programs, requirements, and payer trends to identify opportunities and potential business/patient impact.
- Frequently communicate trends, issues, and best practices to management, sales and marketing teams, and other key internal stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at various industry functions and with patient advocacy groups.
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree and at least 10 years of pharma, biopharmaceutical, patient access services, and/or medical device experience.
- At least 5 years of reimbursement or relevant managed care/patient access experience.
- Proven track record leading or collaborating with a field-based reimbursement teams while working cross functionally.
- Full functional knowledge of pharmacy benefit designs, prior authorization processes, and specialty pharmacy treatment pathways.
- Candidate should have experience in designing, developing, and deploying case management systems.
- Excellent analytical skills focusing on patients and customers, identifying trends and solutions.
- Strong prioritization skills aligned with good decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to navigate high profile, complex business circumstances and condense complex reimbursement issues into simple solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with new-to-market products and rare disease is required.
- Ability to travel approximately 30 to 50%, based on business need.
Salary Range: $225,000 - $250,000
