Description

Kelvin Group is seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist who will provide support to our Business Units. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, people-oriented person who can execute the practical application of safety commitment to the operation and is experienced in building strong teams that operate as a cohesive unit beyond traditional, functional, geographical, and administrative lines.  The EHS Specialist is responsible for interacting with field personnel and BU leadership, evaluating and mitigating risks at customer sites, and managing day-to-day EHS related tasks. This role provides technical expertise, coordination, and execution to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and reports to the EHS Director. 

This position will be based in Fort Worth, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Environment, Health, and Safety strategies for the assigned BU in alignment with Kelvin Core Values and the EHS Vision
  • Exemplify leadership qualities to ensure employee development, knowledge acquisition, and optimum use of talents and capabilities is captured
  • Further align safety-first culture by implementing best practices and encouraging employee ownership in addition to guaranteeing compliance with all federal and state EHS regulations
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by identifying creative solutions to gaps in systems and processes
  • Develop a culture of trust with all employees by establishing and cultivating relationships through effective interactions and timely response to employee concerns and requests
  • Provide exceptional customer service working to become a preferred provider both internally and externally
  • Mentor employees to build EHS capability across the BU
  • Respond to and participate in the investigation of EHS related incidents 
  • Assess EHS needs on an ongoing basis to ensure supplies and training are provided as required
  • Conduct risk assessments and pre-job walks as needed
  • Respond to emergency incidents when required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related science/engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum three years of related experience required, preferably in manufacturing or construction industries 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software 
  • Proficient in delivery of employee training 
  • Must be able to work independently and be proactive/self-motivated 
  • Local travel to customer sites will vary based on current work. 50%-75% anticipated.
  • Overnight stays and extended stays possible depending on project location and duration
