Our head office in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking a Tax Analyst to support the organization’s tax compliance and reporting obligations. This includes preparing annual tax provisions to support reporting and filing of tax returns, assisting with audits, and contributing to tax planning initiatives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations.  The role reports to the Senior Tax Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file federal and provincial sale tax returns (e.g., GST/HST)
  • Co-ordinating with Treasury to make tax payments         
  • Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end tax reporting processes (preparation of provisions and maintaining accurate tax working papers under APSE 3465).
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax compliance and efficiency.
  • Participate in special tax projects and initiatives as needed. 

 

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or working toward CPA is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Canadian tax, preferably in a large corporate setting or public accounting environment.

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to embrace the use of technology to improve efficiencies within the tax team

 

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • May periodically travel to visit locations in USA and Canada.
