Job Description

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Interventional Radiologist who interventional specializes in minimally invasive procedures using imaging guidance to diagnose and treat various medical conditions, enhancing patient care through innovative techniques. The Interventional Radiologist expertise allows for effective treatments, such as biopsies, vascular interventions, and pain management, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes and quicker recovery times. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Interventional Radiology procedures, including, but not limited: 
  •  Drainage Procedure and imaging with catheter fluid collection 
  • Angiogram 
  • Repair of tunnel central venous catheter and venogram 
  • Echo guide with Biopsy and exploration of abdomen 
  • Insert, remove or repair tunneled central venous catheter 
  • Insertion and removal of fistulograms 
  • Lung Biopsy 
  • Percutaneous chest tube insertions 
  • Angioplasty with stenting and TACE (Embolization) 
  • IVC Filters 
  • Cryoablation Kidney Tumor. 
  • Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088. 
  • Provide consultation to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for interventional radiologic procedures. 
  • Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate with the referring clinicians.  
  • Provide review of consults, orders and next- day patient cases for minimum of one hour daily. 
  • Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up with clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures.  
  • Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. 
  • Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients. 
  • Participate with Quality Management measures, such as patient satisfaction surveys, timely completion of medical records, and Peer Reviews.  
  • Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Education Required: 

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. 
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
