Job Description

Department: Research Facilities Planning and Implementation (RFP & I) 
Reports to: Manager 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Status: Temporary Full-Time
Closing Date: August 29, 2025

As an integral member of the Research Facilities Planning and Implementation (RFP &I) department, the Project Manager, RFP & I, applies knowledge and experience of research environments to orchestrate projects under the direction of the Manager and/or Director.

The principal responsibilities include:

  • Developing plans to facilitate the cost effective and timely execution of multiple/simultaneous large/small scale construction,
  • Redevelopment and program development projects for UHN Research;
  • Rerforming grant administration,
  • Procurement/financial management and human resource management responsibilities of 1 – 2 employees;
  • Performing quality management responsibilities;
  • Performing administrative responsibilities leading to the efficient and effective operation of the department;
  • Performing cross-functional and
  • Other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or requested. 

Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of Bachelors Degree in Science or related-Engineering or related equivalent required 
  • Scientific background and/or training is preferred 
  • Completion of a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred 
  • At least five (5) years experience working in a research lab environment 
  • At least five (5) years related experience in project coordination 
  • At least two (2) years experience in architectural drafting in detailed design, an asset 
  • Experience with MS Office and MS Project required 
  • Experience working in a hospital setting, an asset 
  • Experience with managing staff, preferred 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organization skills 
  • Ability to produce reports and meet scheduling deadlines
