To join our team, you must have experience with the ability to precisely and accurately perform a variety of routine and specialized histology techniques.
Job Description
- Prepare tissue samples by fixing, staining, dying, trimming, and other methods
- Identify and document technical issues, quality assurance, and procedural improvements
- Use, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, and keep a clean, disinfected workspace
- Receive, log, and document patient specimens and accompanying forms
- Responsible for Mohs Histotech inventory
Qualifications
- The person should be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a histotechnician or histotechnologist
- Experience working in a lab is preferred, as this is a critical part of the job
- Ability to work independently and with other team members
Job Type:
- Part-time (hours will vary)
- Travel between locations in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington area
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year current Histology experience (Required)
- Mohs Surgery experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate
Education:
- High School Diploma
Certifications/Licenses:
- HT or HTL ASCP certified preferred
Pay:
- Pay starts at $30.00 per hour and increases based on years of experience
