Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their Purchasing Department based out of Senoia, GA on a full-time onsite schedule. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, capital equipment, and services. Your contributions will directly support production operations, inventory management, and vendor relationships, helping Winpak maintain operational excellence and meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Procure raw materials, consumables, capital goods, and outsourced services based on MRP schedules, project requests, and inventory analysis.
- Ensure continuous supply of materials, communicate potential risks, and develop demand forecasts to share with suppliers.
- Monitor and expedite supplier deliveries, manage complaints and corrective actions, and negotiate contracts for cost savings and favorable terms.
- Collaborate with Production Control and Sales to align material availability with demand and support business needs.
Data, Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate item records in Movex, track lead times, and ensure systems reflect up-to-date supply chain information.
- Maintain open purchase orders and support Accounts Payable with reconciliation.
- Prepare and distribute reports, updates, and briefings for stakeholders, including the Purchasing Manager.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, Lean practices, and ISO 9001 compliance.
- Adhere to procurement best practices, department standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Promote safe work practices across all procurement activities.
Team & Communication
- Promote collaboration, effective communication, and strong teamwork within the department.
- Train and develop Junior Buyers to ensure professional growth and alignment with procurement standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a role that required strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external partners
- 3+ years of experience managing competing priorities and effectively prioritizing key tasks and responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience proficiently using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, including order entry and inventory control.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in packaging procurement or the plastics/film industry.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
- Experience with vendor onboarding and supply chain analytics.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Additional Details:
This position is full-time onsite, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime required to support urgent procurement or vendor activities.
