POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes within the production environment. This position applies mechanical engineering principles to support operational efficiency, cost reduction, and adherence to product specifications.  

Key responsibilities include developing and refining processes to improve productivity, quality, and safety; analyzing production data to identify inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions; and designing or modifying equipment, tools, and fixtures to meet evolving manufacturing needs. The role also requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams—such as production, quality, and maintenance—to resolve technical challenges and drive sustained process improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Design, Optimization & Innovation

Responsible for designing and improving manufacturing processes, including workflow optimization, equipment selection, material flow analysis, and implementation of best practices and new technologies. 

Acts as the subject matter expert for New Product Introduction (NPI), translating design requirements into efficient production processes and leading change management between design and manufacturing teams.

Production Performance & Cost Management

Monitors and analyzes production operations to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. 

Uses data-driven methods to improve productivity, reduce costs, and support capital equipment planning. 

Leads manufacturing improvement projects with a focus on achieving established production goals and performance metrics.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Establishes and maintains quality standards across all manufacturing activities, ensuring inspection procedures, corrective actions, and process controls are in place. 

Ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulatory and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) requirements.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

Works closely with design engineers, production staff, quality teams, and operations leadership to align goals and ensure smooth production operations. 

Partners with Operational Excellence (OpEx) teams to lead cross-functional initiatives related to safety, delivery, efficiency, and scrap reduction. 

Serves as a liaison during change implementation and continuous improvement efforts.

Team Development & Operational Oversight

Provides leadership, training, and coaching to manufacturing team members. 

Establishes onboarding programs, sets clear expectations, promotes accountability, and fosters an engaged, high-performance culture on the plant floor. 

Oversees standard operating procedures and ensures alignment with both customer and company requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 4-5 years of previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering role  required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of automation and robotics, and understanding of quality control standards.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address manufacturing issues.

Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and present findings to management.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
