Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.
Our purpose is to: Build Australia’s future economy. IB&M also performs an important internal role for the Group by providing global markets, trade finance, corporate and institutional lending to other CBA business units that allows them to capture opportunities with business and retail customers.
Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC or Coverage) leads banking relationship management and the provision of transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.
GIBC teams include:
- Institutional Client Coverage (ICC) – supporting our clients within Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) and Banks, Government & Education (BGOVE)
- Corporate Client Coverage (CCC) – supporting our clients within Industrials, Transport & Consumers (ITC) as well as Future Cities & Network (FCN)
- Natural Resources, Energy & Carbon (NREC)
L1 Operational Risk and Controls (Embedded team), Transaction Banking Solutions (TBS) and the Chief Operating Office (COO) along with the Sustainable Finance and Environmental, Social and Governance (SF & ESG) team support these teams.

Corporate Client Coverage are responsible for creating senior, strategic and early engagement with our major clients on their business mix, capital structure and financial needs/solutions in partnership with relevant IB&M product specialists and risk and other support partners.
The Bank’s Industrials & Transport team are a centre of excellence for financing, delivering value-enhancing solutions to clients through deep strategic engagement, leveraging CBA’s capabilities across the capital spectrum. Our coverage comprises sophisticated counterparties experienced in complex financings.
Do work that matters:
You will have responsibility for management activities for a portfolio of Multinational Corporate and Aviation clients across U.K., U.S., Europe and the Middle East, supporting seamless day-to-day management of Industrials & Transport’s existing client base, new to Bank clients, new transactions and ongoing portfolio management. The role will also encompass origination and origination support for new transactions.
As a key part of the role, you will provide ongoing relationship management support to the relationship executives for institutional clients within the Industrials & Transport industry sectors, working on matters relating to the execution of ongoing services to clients, work within deal teams on new business, supporting client planning, undertake annual reviews, and maintain pipeline and systems data along with KYC/AML/ESG matters.
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Relating to active services to clients, management of all ongoing, day-to-day internal and external enquiries under the guidance of relationship executives.
- Preparation of term sheets, documentation, credit papers, including providing analysis of industry, deal structure and terms.
- Enhance productivity for the broader team through demonstrating ownership and leadership in management of the client portfolio; take ownership of managing day-to-day services for new and existing clients, and actively following up to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain all basic client information such as limits, industry information and Credit Risk Ratings.
- Taking ownership for managing timelines and preparation of various reporting requirements such as KYC, compliance, pipeline, calls, contacts and financial performance.
- Work closely with Relationship Executives to provide superior service aligned with client needs and the organisation’s business objectives.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role with a focus on corporate clients and portfolio management in the UK.
- Strong executive communication skills and possess the composure and drive to commit to meet tight deadlines. You will be a collaborative team player and will have highly developed organisational, time management and administrative skills.
- Experience in managing credit review process, knowledge of risk management requirements of a major financial institution.
- Understanding of the key drivers for large global corporate clients including the aviation sector. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in a client servicing role and possess relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Cross border financing experience.
- Financial modelling skills.
- At least a BSc in Commerce, Law, Business, or related field. Accounting, legal, risk management or a treasury qualification.
