Overview

Prepares, assembles, and integrates finished dental products for shipment and installation. Maintains high level of A-dec product training, upholding standards and regulatory requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs semi-routine assembly tasks such as electrical wiring, and air and water line connections.
  • Performs relatively complex assembly duties, which include assembling and integrating chairs and preparing units.
  • Conducts final testing and product verification prior to shipment, addresses quality issues through root cause analysis, and communicates with various assembly areas regarding product questions or issues.
  • Occasionally participates in installation and trade show teams, assembling operatories, leveling equipment, and connecting utilities, wiring, tubing and mechanical pieces under the direction of an installation team leader.
  • Adheres to established training, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting other teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess a technical aptitude, the ability to gain intermediate assembly knowledge, the ability to learn the fit and function of all parts and assemblies, and understand how individual components interact.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical /electrical repair practices. Broad understanding of troubleshooting techniques with mechanical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Intermediate analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues, and must be able to take independent initiative to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to interpret method sheets, bills-of-material, samples, production orders, special orders, and equipment user manuals used in this position.
  • Must have ability to operate required hand tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, communicate issues effectively, and effectively read prints and documentation.
  • Have the ability to be forklift certified within 8 weeks of start date and maintain certification.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed; average travel is less than 10% annually.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Drug and /or alcohol testing may be required for specific projects.

Education and Experience

  • Generally requires 3 years of technical and mechanical experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
