GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Assesses, prepares, and provides nursing care to patients; provides ongoing care in collaboration with multiple physicians; provides and develops educational opportunities for staff and monitors outcomes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assesses, develops, and administers plan of care, completes appropriate documentation and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the RN's knowledge base or scope of practice.
Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on individual needs.
Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and interdisciplinary team.
Coordinates administrative functions for the Program, which may include staffing coverage and/or participating in marketing activities.
Participates in the development and implementation of departmental and hospital performance improvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Current PA RN Licensure
1 year of nursing experience in cardiac, emergency room or ICU setting
Program area certification and/or CEU may be required.
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
BSN
