Associate - International Funds

We are seeking a dynamic junior lawyer to join our International Funds team in Singapore. This role involves working closely with Indraneil Ghosh and Will McCosker, both of whom bring extensive international experience across major financial hubs.

Your role will mainly involve legal research, drafting legal documents, assisting with negotiations and client interactions (including direct client engagement). On an as-needed basis you will be required to help with business development initiatives for the practice. Clients are internationally reputed institutions including sponsors and investors such as sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. You will be expected to engage directly with clients as required and help maintain strong relationships while also supporting on complex transactions.

Applicant criteria for the position:

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about contributing to KWM’s growth in Singapore and work closely with our Australian offices. You will collaborate closely with colleagues both locally and in our other international offices. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strong team. In addition, you will have:

  • A recognised legal qualification from Singapore or a common law jurisdiction and at least 1 year of post-qualification experience as an Associate in a law firm (i.e, three years of total experience in a law firm). 
  • Strong understanding of corporate law and financial regulations, with proven experience working on fund formation and other related matters.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, communication, and research skills to deliver accurate work product.
  • A strong commitment to client service and the ability to build and maintain robust client relationships.
  • Team focus with the ability to develop strong internal relationships.
  • Enthusiasm for business development activities, including client presentations and strategic relationship development and management.
  • An adaptable mindset, willing to engage in various aspects of legal work.
  • Proficiency in project management to handle multiple transactions and projects efficiently.
