Our Performance Team is seeking an exceptional Senior Delay Attribution Manager to become our subject matter expert and owner of performance data quality. This is a commercially critical role that directly protects Arriva Rail London's financial position through expert dispute resolution and forensic attribution analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for owning and governing ARL’s end-to-end delay attribution process, acting as the subject matter expert for all related activity.
You will lead daily Level 2 dispute resolution conversations with Network Rail, protecting ARL’s commercial position within performance regimes.
This individual will need to conduct high-quality, forensic reviews to ensure every attribution decision aligns with strict internal standards and contractual frameworks.
You will be expected to identify and deliver systematic improvements through root cause analysis that reflects a deep understanding of both operational realities and commercial impacts.
You will deputise for the Performance Data, Reporting, and Commercial Manager as needed, contributing to strategic decision-making and high-level stakeholder relationships.
You will be responsible for leading daily operational dispute calls with Network Rail. Managing all Level 2 correspondence with clarity, accuracy, and professionalism
You will oversee and provide quality assurance on Level 1 attributions, while coaching and supporting teams to ensure consistency and excellence.
You will play a critical role in supporting Contingency Plan Relief (CPR) processes, with a focus on ensuring data quality and integrity.
You will be responsible for preparing well-structured, persuasive written arguments to uphold ARL’s commercial interests in formal disputes and correspondence.
You will champion a culture of performance excellence across ARL through expert coaching, capability-building, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
A proactive, self-starting mindset with strong personal accountability, able to identify what needs doing, ask the right questions, and take ownership of tasks that support contractual and commercial outcomes
Exceptional attention to detail with a forensic approach to analysis, confident in questioning inconsistencies, closing information gaps, and driving root cause investigations
Deep commercial and operational understanding of Schedule 7, DAPR, and railway performance regimes, with proven experience in delay attribution and dispute resolution at both Level 1 and Level 2
Strong communication skills, capable of constructing persuasive written arguments, presenting complex issues clearly, and influencing stakeholders at all levels
High digital fluency, including advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with TRUST, KESTREL, TMIS, and fluently working with large datasets
You will exercise, professional integrity and sound judgement, applying rules impartially, owning genuine delays, and confidently defending ARL’s position where appropriate
Relevant experience in rail or transport performance roles, with minimum qualifications including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
