Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting clients with outpatient psychiatry services. In this role, you will assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care, prepare patients for examinations, and perform essential lab services, including phlebotomy. Your contributions will help ensure that our clients receive the highest quality of care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment
- Take patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
- Administer injections and perform lab testing and phlebotomy
- Manage appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, and chart management
- Provide information to patients to help them benefit from clinic services
- Conduct health and medical reviews as instructed by leadership
- Communicate health concerns to the agency team and take appropriate action
- Maintain a schedule of clients' doctor appointments and send reminders to staff
- Perform general lab and phlebotomy duties, communicating lab results to providers and nursing staff
- Complete documentation in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Licensed Practical Nurse in applicable state
- CPR certification preferred
- Phlebotomy training and previous lab experience preferred
- One year of experience in a physician office setting preferred
Additional Qualifications:
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
Physical Requirements:
- ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
