As a Platform Lead you are responsible for the delivery of the technical roadmap of your platform and its capabilities.  You will use a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership, and strategic thinking to ensure the platform’s reliability, scalability, and performance. 

We are looking for a Platform Lead Customer Experience to join our Regulatory, Customer & Corporate Domain  You will be responsible for the platforms that deliver self-service experiences for our customers, including the NZTA App, UX/UI delivery framework, our web apps and websites, online forms and our enterprise customer communications platform 

  • Use your strong leadership skills to champion Te Aukaha, Digital’s key priorities around maintaining production and improving security while championing our Agile ways of working by leading and supporting cross functional teams. 
  • You will be accountable for ensuring that the platform aligns to our Digital Strategy and Enterprise Architecture whilst contributing and adhering to agreed technical patterns and best practices.  
  • You will also be accountable for maintaining and improving the platform.  
  • You will have the ability to assess relevant market trends and evaluate opportunities, while engaging with the business, strategic partners, the industry and other government bodies, to propose long-term technical direction regarding their platform across NZTA.

We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $188,127 and $240,384 of band commensurate to skills and experience.

 To be successful in this role

  • you will have significant experience in delivering common capabilities, with a platform mindset, in a complex hybrid cloud, with a large organisation  Including ability to make decisions and sound recommendations using critical analysis, and comprehensive communication skills. 
  • You will have a background in technical leadership of customer facing technology, including mobile apps, web apps and an understanding of common integration patterns. 
  • Significant experience driving adoption and scalability of digital platforms, including delivery and ownership of its roadmap. 
  • Significant experience as a Platform Lead or in similar technical leadership roles, including alignment of business requirements through to delivered outcomes. 
  • Experience of integrating with, and delivering, complex Managed Services solutions in an often, multi-vendor, multi-cloud, environment, whilst delivering at pace using Agile methodologies. 
  • Sound understanding of architectural principles, practices, and processes as applied in the delivery of our platforms. 
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in a cross-functional team 
  • Experience in a wide range of delivery methods including Agile 

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
