Key Responsibilities:
- Devise and implement robust performance testing strategies for time-critical systems and large-scale databases, ensuring they meet demanding performance and scalability requirements.
- Design targeted performance tests for Azure services and high-volume database platforms, using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and APM solutions like DataDog and AWS CloudWatch to track and analyse system behaviour.
- Apply deep expertise in system architecture and networking to identify, analyse, and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring efficient data flow and optimal resource utilisation across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with development and database engineering teams to optimise application and database efficiency through code profiling, query optimisation, architectural enhancements, and network configuration improvements.
- Conduct comprehensive load, stress, and scalability assessments for transactional and analytical workloads, simulating real-world scenarios to validate autoscaling, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts and frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, monitor production metrics, and document strategies, execution plans, results, and improvement actions for transparency and effective knowledgebase.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a solid foundation in system architecture and networking principles.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in performance engineering or testing, with proven expertise in large-scale database technologies, query optimisation, and database management.
- Demonstrated experience in fintech, banking, or other highly regulated industries, ensuring strict compliance with security and data privacy standards.
- Hands-on proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, and database-specific profiling and monitoring solutions, including scripting, execution, and analysis of test results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams—including developers, database engineers, cloud architects—and integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for Azure and cloud-based platforms.
- Good communication skills and a demonstrable ability to document performance strategies, test executions, findings, and improvements, delivering clear and actionable recommendations to collaborators.
