Are you an analytical thinker with a passion for customer service? Join our dynamic team at Plymouth Rock as an Underwriting Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for reviewing and evaluating Homeowners' new business applications, renewals, endorsements, and inspections to ensure they meet our underwriting guidelines. Using your independent judgment and within company policies, you will make crucial underwriting decisions. Additionally, you'll provide valuable support and direction to agencies, enhancing their growth and profit objectives while maintaining a strong emphasis on customer service, agency underwriting, and relationship building to support our corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer and Agent Communication: Engage with customers and agents via email and phone regarding policy inquiries, quality of business, or service-related issues.
  • Department Support: Assist with incoming department calls and provide top-tier customer service.
  • Policy Research and Decisions: Conduct research to make informed coverage decisions and policy changes according to established guidelines.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of homeowners' products across multiple states.
  • Data Management: Perform data entry of basic policy data and troubleshoot policy systems to issue renewal and endorsement transactions.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer and data entry skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Motivation: High energy and motivation to follow up and take ownership of tasks.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Homeowners contract and coverages is required.
  • Required: A four-year college degree.
