About the Position

The Social Worker is an integral member of the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team at DYHS. Working closely with other SEWB staff and clinical teams, the role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to address the emotional, social, and systemic factors that influence health and wellbeing. This position requires cultural humility, trauma-informed practice, and the ability to navigate complex social issues, advocating for clients and coordinating care that strengthens resilience and self-determination.

Key Responsibilities (Please refer to Position Description for more details)

  • We're looking for a passionate Social Worker who can deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed support to Aboriginal clients across our clinics and outreach programs. You’ll work holistically with individuals and families, addressing issues like mental health, housing, child safety, AOD use, and financial stress.
  • Be part of a collaborative SEWB team where your role includes case management, crisis response, community outreach, and connection to vital services. You’ll also lead client care planning, advocate for culturally responsive practices, and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
  • If you’re ready to create positive change through compassionate, community-focused care — we’d love to hear from you!
