Job Title: Bakery Counter Associate – Full Time/Part Time

Location: Hive Bakery & Cafe, West Palm Beach, Florida

We are committed to providing exceptional guest experiences through our sophisticated ambiance, curated menus, and dedicated staff. We are seeking skilled and experienced Host/Hostess Leaders to oversee our front-of-house operations during breakfast/lunch and dinner shifts.

Position Overview

As a Bakery Counter Associate, you are the first point of contact for our guests—welcoming them, taking orders, and ensuring their experience starts with a smile. You’ll guide guests through our menu, handle orders accurately, and maintain a clean, inviting counter area. This is a fast-paced role that blends customer service with light food-handling and teamwork to keep our bakery cafe running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

Greet guests warmly and help them feel welcome.
Take food and beverage orders accurately, input into POS system, and process payments.
Guide guests through the menu, highlighting specials and best-sellers.
Ensure orders are delivered promptly and correctly.
Respond to guest questions, concerns, and feedback with professionalism.

Counter & Cafe Operations

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter and pastry display.
Restock cups, utensils, condiments, and merchandise as needed.
Assist in packaging baked goods and beverages for dine-in and to-go orders.
Follow food safety and handling standards.

Teamwork & Communication

Coordinate with baristas, kitchen staff, and fellow team members for smooth service.
Communicate special orders, dietary needs, and guest concerns to the appropriate team members.
Support team with opening, side, and closing duties.

Qualifications

Previous customer service or café/bakery experience preferred but not required.
Friendly, positive, and professional communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to stand and walk for 8–10 hours, and lift up to 30 lbs.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Requirements

Additional Qualifications:

Able to work at approximately 36-inch table
Able to bend, stoop, and perform tasks in confined areas
Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays
Ability to read and understand English; basic math and computer skills
Able to lift and carry trays, food, and beverages safely (up to 50 pounds)
Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts
