We are seeking highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in product development and troubleshooting. As a Technical Specialist, this role will play a key role in Layer 2 Switching, Layer 3 Routing, and Multicast technologies. The role involves leading projects, resolving complex technical challenges, and mentoring junior team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

•    Apply expertise in IP-based networks and Layer 2/Layer 2+ protocols to develop & validate software for the Lightspan family, ensuring it meets required standards.
•    Collaborate closely with R&D, product management, and customer support to ensure a seamless development process and timely delivery of features.
•    Design both manual and automated tests to improve test coverage and accelerate bug resolution, driving quality improvements.
•    Deepen expertise in L2 & L2+ protocols such as Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, IGMP, and stay updated with emerging network technologies.
•    Mentor and guide junior team members, gaining leadership experience and overseeing projects with limited risks.
•    Enhance troubleshooting skills by diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues across customer environments.
•    Continue to innovate and enhance the product’s software architecture and development processes, learning new tools and methods to improve efficiency.
•    Leverage customer feedback to continually refine and enhance product features, ensuring robustness in live deployments.

 

Skills Required:
•    Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering stream with 8+ years of experience in L2 & L2+ protocol development / validation testing including Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, and ARP.
•    Advanced programming skills in Python / Java, and the design and development of automated testcases
•    Any combination of L2 & L2+ protocols => Layer 2 Forwarding, Switching, VLAN, xSTP, LLDP, IGMP, ARP, 802.1x, QoS, DHCP, PPPoE, ERPS, CFM, EFM-OAM, ANCP, Radius and LACP.
•    Experience in product analysis, architecture and design.
•    Understanding of network configuration protocols like NetConf and YANG.
•    Troubleshooting and analytical skills to address complex issues in both software and, minimizing product downtime.
•    Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards across all stages of the product lifecycle, which is central to my approach to software development.    

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Work experience in customer engagement.
  • Experience with products like xDSL, GPON, and IPDSLAM, aligning well with the product line will be added advantage.
