Job Description

Purpose Role :

The Process Engineer is responsible for monitoring, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes across the biodiesel plant, including refinery, refined glycerine, boiler, and wastewater treatment operations. This role supports the Plant Manager in achieving production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost objectives while ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. The Process Engineer also leads process improvement initiatives and provides technical support for troubleshooting and project execution.

Job Scope :

Process Control & Optimization

  • Establish, monitor, and validate Process Control Strategies and centreline parameters to ensure consistent quality and optimal plant performance.
  • Analyse production rate, yield, and material utilization; investigate losses and abnormalities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

 Operational Readiness & Compliance

  • Ensure readiness of Man, Machine, Material, and Method (4M) for executing production plans.
  • Maintain compliance with product quality standards, environmental regulations, ABMS requirements, and HSE procedures.

SOP & Documentation Management

  • Develop, validate, and update SOPs to reflect actual practices.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of operational reports, log sheets, and chemical usage records.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to production teams, resolve process-related issues, and assist during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and equipment commissioning.
  • Validate new equipment or process changes before implementation.

Capability Building & Training

  • Develop and deliver training and qualification programs to ensure operational staff are equipped with the required skills to run the plant safely and efficiently.

Audit, Inspection & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal and regulatory inspections (e.g., DOSH).
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and by-products, and minimize costs.

Competencies :

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of process systems.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Level of Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering. (preferable, otherwise in any engineering field).

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in biodiesel, oleochemical, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of process control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with refinery, boiler, and wastewater operations is an advantage.
  • Proficient in process simulation and analysis tools.
