Role Title:Full Stack Developer
BU/Segment:Banking
Location: Northampton, UK (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract
Summary of the role:
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a high-impact team within the banking and financial services sector. This is a 12-month full-time contract with the potential for a permanent role in the future. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills across both backend and frontend development, DevOps practices, and API integration, and will be available to start immediately. A background in financial services is preferred.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Developing scalable, secure backend solutions using Java microservices (Spring Boot, Spring Framework)
- Building responsive frontend components using React.js
- Creating and integrating REST and SOAP APIs
- Writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito
- Collaborating with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, OpenShift, and Kubernetes
- Working with relational and NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Oracle, and SQL
- Implementing security protocols such as OAuth, mTLS, TLS, and certificate management
- Monitoring application performance using AppDynamics, ELK Stack, SonarQube, and Veracode
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation using Swagger
- Participating in agile development cycles and daily stand-ups
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
- 6–8 years’ hands-on experience in full stack development
- Strong backend expertise in Java microservices (JDK 11/17/21)
- Proficiency in React.js for frontend development
- Proven experience with REST/SOAP APIs and secure API development
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with database technologies (MongoDB, Oracle, SQL)
- Familiarity with security frameworks and protocols (OAuth, TLS, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and quality tools like AppDynamics, SonarQube, ELK Stack
- Knowledge of Swagger or equivalent for API documentation
- Ability to start immediately and commit to a hybrid working model in Northampton
