Underwriting Assistant 

Ascot Underwriting (Bermuda) Limited offers a wide range of product solutions including Casualty, Marine & Energy, Property, Specialty Treaty, and Facultative, enabling cedents to effectively manage their exposures with innovative solutions and substantial capacity. The Facultative and London market reinsurance products are supported by the capacity and security of Ascot’s leading Lloyd’s syndicate, coupled with local expertise.  Our Bermuda reinsurance products are written on “A” rated paper.

We are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join the Bermuda reinsurance team. This individual will be engaged in the complete life cycle of new and renewal accounts. This highly detailed individual will collaborate with the treaty unit to ensure an exceptional level of efficiency and accuracy. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain flow of information related to submission data, deal workflow, contracts, and timelines
• Ensure accurate recording of risk details into policy management system
• Manage internal and external stakeholders
• Support underwriting team in meeting Service Level Agreements for contracts and endorsements
• Support underwriting team with marketing, meeting, and travel logistics as needed 
• Identify inefficient processes within team workflow and proactively seek opportunities for improvement
• Ensure compliance with contract certainty requirements

• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Minimum Skills and Experience Required

• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. 
• Excellent written and verbal communications with demonstrable customer service skills with the ability to be broker facing and communicate effectively with internal and external business partners. 
• Demonstrates outstanding time management abilities and a strong aptitude for streamlining tasks and enhancing efficiency 
• Advanced competency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, such as Excel. Working knowledge of S2000 preferred.
• Ability to self-identify group needs and think creatively and proactively to solve issues
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet business demand and deadlines including evenings and nights
