Job Description:

We are looking for a Data Engineer located in Latam who will work on a variety of tasks to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data from many available sources into usable information for data scientists and business engineers to interpret. They will also develop and test scalable, automated architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling. The main goal for this Data Engineer position is to remove the barrier between organizations and the insightful dataset, which can be used to evaluate and optimize business strategies.

Responsibilities:   

• Design and build data pipelines from various data sources to different destinations (databases, applications) on-prem, cloud, or hybrid.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of business analysts, architects, engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to formulate business and technical requirements.
• Participate in architecture discussions, influence the product roadmap, take ownership and responsibility over new projects, and perform audits to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Utilize programming languages, databases & cloud databases (OLPT).
• Document database designs that include data models, metadata, ETL specifications, and process flows for business data project integrations.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize production systems. Investigate and resolve incidents reported by users. Identify opportunities to automate, consolidate and simplify data solutions at scale.
• Define best practices and create coding standards and patterns that can be reused by other data engineers.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 5+ years of work experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong experience in SQL (query proficiency and performance tuning skills).
• Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing using Cloud database technologies.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing using Cloud database technologies.
• Experience migrating data between various systems/apps.
• Coding proficiency in Python or any scripting language.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD processes.

Soft skills:

• Able to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamically changing business environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a desire to learn and teach.
• Excellent understanding of development processes and agile methodologies.
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly.
• A willingness to get your hands dirty - you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where everyone pitches in to get the job done.

Bonus skills: 

• Prior experience with CRM-like integrations is a Big Plus (especially SugarCRM).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
