Research Technician, Segmentation and Propagation

Purpose of the Position:

The Research Technician, Segmentation and Propagation will perform and support research in the laboratories supporting High Energy Laser Research. The work will stress modeling and simulation, but will include laboratory work.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform research and assist with building optical system models to be used in exploring design trade space
• Assist with building optical propagation models to be used in exploring design trade space
• Perform literature searches and researching related fundamental science and technical topics
• Document and report research results

Minimum Requirements:

• College coursework preferably in Science, Engineering or Business
• Must have moderate technical knowledge
• Knowledge of programming in Rust, C, C++, Python, Verilog, Java, C#
• Some experience with Fourier transforms
• Must be a US citizen

Desired Qualifications:

• BS in Physics, Electrical engineering or similar STEM field preferred
• Ability to run a CAD program desired
