Are you driven by a passion for community health and wellness? Community Progress Council is seeking a dedicated Nutritionist to join our Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program. In this vital role, you'll empower families through nutrition education, personalized counseling, and access to essential health services—helping to build a healthier future for women, infants, and children in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Families: Evaluate WIC applicants to determine eligibility and connect them with the resources they need.
- Empower Through Education: Deliver personalized nutrition counseling and guidance to help participants make informed, healthy choices.
- Connect to Care: Refer individuals to vital health and social services to support their overall well-being.
- Educational Outreach: Share nutrition knowledge through creative outreach—leaflets, posters, food demos, and more.
- Monitor Health: Perform growth assessments, interpret charts, and conduct basic health screenings.
- Risk Analysis: Analyze nutritional risks and challenges to develop effective, individualized care plans.
- Policy Interpretation: Translate nutrition policies and best practices into actionable advice for individuals and community groups.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as nutrition science, public health nutrition, or dietetics from an accredited institution.
- At least one year of professional experience is strongly preferred. Relevant graduate-level coursework may be considered in place of experience.
- Successful completion of all required background checks, physical, and TB test.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English instructions. Bilingual candidates (Spanish, Haitian-Creole, or Arabic) are highly encouraged to apply.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to satellite locations to ensure consistent attendance.
- Able to follow and interpret various instructions and solve practical challenges.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and open to learning WIC-specific software tools.
