Environmental Program Specialist

Location: Branch Health Clinics Iwakuni & Sasebo (travel to Yokosuka for training) Reports To: Facilities Management Dept. Head; mentors WPST-B

Primary Accountabilities:

Execute HW/SW/MW compliance and broader environmental oversight at remote branch facilities, acting as first-line SME for spill response, storage-tank management, and regulatory inspections.

Please note: This position is currently part of a competitive bid process and is contingent upon the successful award of the contract.

Major Duties:

Serve as MWSA and HWAP point of contact (each ~40 %).
Oversee all SW/HW/MW operations at BHC Iwakuni & Sasebo; conduct semi-annual site visits.
Draft and update branch-clinic SOPs, HW/MW plans, and storage-tank compliance docs.
Evaluate discrepancies; develop work requests and project packages to close gaps.
Provide remote phone/email support to BHC Sasebo; maintain trend data and reports.

Requirements

Requirements:

BS in Environmental Science/Engineering or =5 years hospital environmental PM.
=2 years hands-on HW/MW management.
Strong knowledge of JEGS & OPNAV M-5090.1.

Preferred Qualifications

40-Hour HAZWOPER; ISO 14001 auditor.
