Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic PMO Director to lead the Global Business Services (GBS) Project Management Office. This role will oversee multiple complex initiatives, manage a team of Project Managers, and ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects aligned with our GBS strategy.
The PMO Director will act as a strategic partner to the VP GBS and senior stakeholders, driving automation, standardization, and process excellence to elevate GBS maturity and deliver value across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Lead and evolve the PMO function to enable GBS transformation and support the 5-year roadmap to advance GBS maturity.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to Project Managers, ensuring alignment with GBS objectives and enterprise priorities.
- Program & Project Management:
- Oversee multiple large-scale initiatives across GBS functions (e.g., HR, P2P, O2C, IT, Master Data).
- Ensure effective project governance, prioritization, and risk management.
- Prevent overlaps and resource conflicts between concurrent initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Partner with global business and functional leaders as well as external partners to ensure strong buy-in and sponsorship for GBS initiatives.
- Drive transparency with clear reporting, KPIs, and regular executive updates.
- Automation & Standardization:
- Champion process optimization, standardization, and technology enablement to achieve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with IS and functional leads to integrate automation tools and platforms.
- People Leadership:
- Manage and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Build PMO capabilities and best practices to ensure consistent project delivery excellence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in PMO leadership or program management roles, ideally in GBS, shared services, or global transformation environments.
- Strong track record of leading enterprise-wide projects focused on automation, standardization, and process improvement.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment across a complex global organization.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification preferred.
- Availability to travel internationally as required.
