The Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement reports directly to the Plant Manager. This role
provides opportunities to work in a dynamic and results-driven work environment. Ideal
candidates will embrace a growth mindset, focused on continuous improvement. The Senior
Manager, Continuous Improvement will take on a leadership role as an integral member of the
Refresco network, with the opportunity to experience growth and success at the world's largest
independent bottler of beverages.
Key Accountabilities:
The following are essential duties and responsibilities for this position:
• Owns and manages the overall Continuous Improvement Program in the Refresco North
American organization by ensuring effectiveness of engineering change management,
adoption of systems and culture by integration of NA CI health matrix pillars and
functions that will ensure the delivery of consistent business results.
• Acts as an internal consultant for multiple sites to lead, define, develop, and coach
continuous improvement and operational activities to drive improvement in all KPI’s as
the business requires.
• Owns and manages the NA CI health Matrix Pillars in multiple sites and works with
these sites in improving their performance and moving them to different phases
(Beginning, Progressing and Matured) of the health matrix.
• Audits plants and places plants in different phases (Beginning, Progressing and Matured)
on the NA CI Health Matrix and sends out reports with an assigned frequency to senior
leadership.
• Supports plants in problem-solving capability, implements problem solving tools (A3),
and strategy across the plants and coaches them in execution and sustainment of
countermeasures and drives action plans to resolution Identifies plants that are CI
oriented and works with them closely to identify opportunities for engineering process
improvement and partners with process owners to lead activities to deliver sustainable
and repeatable change and helps improve overall EBIDTA results.
• Develops and prepares key metrics for focused plants and reports to drive action and
change through the CI program Works with the plant management teams at challenged
plants to drive improvements in People, Process, Equipment and Raw Materials which
results in breakthrough case output and EBITDA improvement.
• Works with Corporate Engineering and Operations Program management closely to
identify flow gaps from initial project conception through full project implementation by
being involved in CQV process and rolling out the 3P program.
• Helps plants and Corporate engineering in performing SATs for new bottling/canning
lines and identifies gaps and works with vendors to close those gaps.
• Works with focused plants in developing their glide paths and being a liaison between
operation and commercial teams to make sure that the AOP goals are attainable.
• Works closely with HR in focused plants to hire the right people, train them and
implement processes in place that reduce turnover.
• Works with multiple plants and supports the Sr Dr of CI in performing work balance
events that optimize labor for the best ROI on fixed costs and help improve plant
EBIDTA.
• Works with multiple plants to implement critical spare parts inventory process that is the
key NA CI health matrix pillar.
• Brings servant leadership values across plants and mentors this leadership to different
plant managers and business leaders.
• Identifies and leverages best practices across the plant and shares broadly across the
network CI and operational team to improve standards and guidelines for company
• TPM implementation through the NA CI SharePoint.
• Will lead result oriented kaizen events as need to support any of the above in the
appropriate format and setting for each customer group.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or engineering management.
• Requires 5 years of experience as an industrial engineer using continuous improvement
principles for a multi-site company, including 5 years experience with the following:
- Change management
- Root cause analysis
- Conducting kaizen events
- Six Sigma
- Value Stream Mapping
- Microsoft Office tools
- Problem-Solving tools
- Reducing scrap costs
- Must include 3 y. exp. with SAP, Powerpoint, BI tools, Minitab, BRC/GMP auditing
