About the Role:
As the Manager of Underwriting you will lead our underwriting team in assessing and evaluating risk for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in underwriting principles, risk assessment, and team management, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of underwriters, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure consistent and high-quality underwriting decisions.
- Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and analyze underwriting data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize underwriting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, risk management, and claims, to streamline underwriting workflows and improve overall efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on underwriting matters, providing guidance and training to underwriters and other stakeholders as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting underwriting practices, and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor underwriting performance metrics and KPIs, and provide regular reports and updates to senior management.

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation range: $85,000 - $95,000
