Type of project: Onshore mining site in Guyana (Region 7)
Rotations: 4 weeks on/off
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment.
- Examines patients, taking medical histories, addressing patients' concerns, and answering patients' questions.
- Diagnoses and treats injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and explains the results to patients.
- Updates patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
- Maintains quality, long-term relationships with RMI clients.
- Maintains disaster preparedness plan and supplies.
- Works with EMT on site to coordinate maintenance of all medical equipment as necessary.
- Provides daily scheduled sick call hours.
- Provides 24-hour on-call emergency medical response capability.
- Stores, prepares, discards, dispenses, secures and inventories drugs in compliance with federal laws.
- Maintains patient records in accordance with HIPPA.
- Represents RMI in a professional manner in accordance with mission statement, strategic objectives and Medical Support Group Operations Plan.
- Responds to company directives in a timely manner adhering to stated deadlines.
- Performs QHSE activities as directed by the client including safety inspections, health and hygiene monitoring and QHSE training.
- Demonstrates and ensures knowledge, understanding and compliance of RMI policies and procedures.
- Assures patient’s safety in accordance with the rules, regulations, protocols, policies and procedures of RMI, including the laws and regulations of the state and local governments, consistent with good judgment and the provision of high quality patient care.
- Adheres to regulations regarding proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Body Substance Isolation (BSI) at all times when interacting with patients. Is familiar with and practices the Infection Control policies and procedures of RMI

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a certified physician in Guyana
- Experience providing extended patient care in remote areas preferred.
- Foreign travel experience.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism
- Demonstrated self-discipline
- Ability to integrate into a cross-cultural social structure.
- Must pass standard physical examination prior to deployment.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy preferred.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: (Training will be given)
- Current licensed physician.
- Maintain current certification in BLS and ACLS.
- Healthcare Provider level CPR and current certification in Basic First Aid through an accredited provider, or successful completion of the above within thirty (30) days of employment.
