Job Description

Department: Spinal Cord Rehab, Allied Health
Reports to: Manager, Allied Health
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Temporary Full-Time ( November 2026)
Closing Date: August 6, 2025

 

Duties

  • Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients at Toronto Rehab - Lyndhurst  within the framework of patient centered care
  • Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team
  • Provide education to patients, their families, occupational therapy students and interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide functional assessment, training, and intervention for writing aid clients (inpatients of Lyndhurst centre and outpatients).
  • Familiarity and comfort working with technology including adapted computer access software/hardware in Windows, Apple and Android platforms
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees and quality initiatives in the Department and relevant Programs/Services
  • Assist with coverage of other service areas where required. The candidate will perform all other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Member of Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) is preferred
  • MOCA certification is preferred
  • ADP authorizer for augmentative communication and writing aids preferred 
  • 2-5 years experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience with psychosocial and physical health and related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance
  • Experience with  neurological dysfunction, as well as seating and positioning is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates strong and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
