Job Description
Schedule: Night Shift
In this role you will manage a team and have hands on responsibility to support various Workday Finance, and other finance and reporting applications including configuration, maintenance, administration, and process documentation. This position will report to the AVP, Finance Business Systems for Arch Capital Services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage team administering, configuring, and providing end user support for Workday Finance applications and reporting tools
- Be a power user / highly proficient user of our financial systems, always communicating various features to stakeholders and sharing best practices to support user training.
- Help to define/document/teach standards and best practices for system usage.
- Support streamlining finance processes that your team supports. Understanding the impacts of changes recommended and how to translate them into business requirements
- Run small sized projects that improve our ability to make better data focused insights or make finance more efficient
- Develop and maintain system process documentation, job aids and flows
- Participate in scheduled system upgrades including regression / patch testing
- Be a change advocate, leading finance community towards modernization of technologies and processes.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience in a finance systems administrator or business role
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of a top tier ERP system such as Workday (preferred), Oracle or SAP required
- Understanding of relational and multi-dimensional database structures and concepts
- Understanding and application of financial analysis techniques and general accounting procedures
- Knowledge of business hierarchies and general ledger accounts
- Functional experience in maintaining financial reporting systems
- Ability to use enterprise general ledger systems and other tools for investigation inquiry and report writing
- Experience with BI tools (such as Power BI, Cognos, TM1, etc.) required
- SQL query knowledge is strongly preferred
- In depth knowledge of business analysis processes and techniques
- Project management skills a plus
- Excellent customer service skills to provide end user/business owner systems support on high level issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Can organize and lead discussions during meetings
- Demonstratable ability to identify and resolve issues by investigating to find the root cause and determine the best solution
- Ability to improve skills through self-study and individual learning
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to discuss, understand and document requirements from stakeholders
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Insurance industry skills a plus
- Ability to manage your team’s work to deliver on agreed to dates and deadlines and communicate any risks or issues to your leadership
