Charge Nurse Psychiatric Unit

Day Shift

Job Summary: Effectively leads the patient care team to achieve optimum patient outcomes during their shift. Assumes responsibilities as delegated by the Nurse Manager and Program Director including the direction, supervision and delegation of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities to staff. Facilitates effective communication and resolution of work site operation issues that support Baptist Health Madisonville in its strategic initiatives.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

Associates degree from an accredited School of Nursing required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact license. BCLS required. ACLS is preferred within 3 months, not to exceed 6 months, preceptor training.  Non-violent crisis intervention certification required after hire, not to exceed 3 months, and maintained annually.  Training provided in-house. Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing certification (ANCC) preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of clinical management experience in a related service line preferred, with previous experience in acute behavioral health preferred. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated leadership qualities at current level of practice and good interpersonal and communication skills.
