Charge Nurse CCU/StepDown

36 Hours per week   Night Shift   Job Summary: Effectively leads the patient care team to achieve optimum patient outcomes during their shift. Assumes responsibilities as delegated by the Manager including direction, supervision and delegation of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities to staff. Facilitates effective communication and resolution of work site operation issues that support Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville in its strategic initiatives.  

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or compact state license. BCLS required. ACLS preferred within 3 months, not to exceed 6 months. NIH Stroke Scale Certification required 3 months from date of hire/transfer. Certification in area of expertise preferred. Avade workplace violence prevention training (Level III) required after hire, not to exceed 3 months, and maintained annually. Training provided in-house. ***current employees as of April 12, 2024 will be allowed 1 year to obtain***

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of experience in related area preferred. 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated leadership qualities at current level of practice and good interpersonal and communication skills.
