Summary:

The Analytics Engineer position is a specialized role within BIA Hyderabad. This role involves applying advanced analytical techniques to transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform in-depth analysis, build scalable data pipelines, and deliver recommendations to enhance business outcomes and foster innovation.

​Roles & Responsibilities

  • Hands-on design, deployment, operations, maintenance of pipelines for data science related products and machine learning solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develop a close working relationship with data science teams to facilitate and implement best practices relating to data engineering, and MLOps.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, formulate data-driven hypotheses and identify KPIs for analysis.
  • Build and optimize robust data pipelines and analytical workflows to enable statistical analysis, support machine learning models, and deliver insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns and anomalies in the data and propose solutions to business problems
  • Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure data availability, quality and reliability for analysis and modeling
  • Actively learns new data engineering tools and methods or gain proficiency in existing data engineering/Analytical tools.
  • Shows willingness to adapt to changes in technology and processes.

​Skills and competencies

  • Proficient in PySpark and Python with strong experience in data processing, data manipulation and analysis
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and managing structured data
  • Experience with building and deploying data engineering solutions using Git (for version control and collaborative development)
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to tackle complex business challenges
  • Solid communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices, including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Basic understanding of the Domino platform is a plus
  • Familiarity with AWS/AZURE/GCP services (like API gateway, Cloud Formation, lambda, IAM etc) is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

​Experience

  • We welcome a bachelor’s or master's in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience (typically 1 to 3 years) in any Engineering role preferably in IT/Pharma Industry
  • Have a strong commitment to a career in technology with a passion for healthcare
  • Experience or understanding in Agile methodology.
  • Experience in handling and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured data sets using SQL or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience working with healthcare data, clinical trials, or related domains is preferable
  • Understanding of the biopharma industry, including regulatory requirements and healthcare data sources is a plus.
